THE RULES

GAME DURATION:

•SINGLE GAME 2 HOURS 30 MIN FOR BOTH A and B SECTION’S.

•DOUBLE HEADER  2 HOURS 30 MIN REGARDLESS DRAFT OR LEAGUE.

•EACH PLAYER MUST PLAY 50% OF HIS GAMES ATTENDED, BY THE END OF THE SEASON. (UNLESS DISCIPLINARY ISSUES ARISE).

•PLAYERS HAVE TO PLAY IN 85% OF ALL THE DRAFT GAMES FOR THEM TO QUALIFY FOR PROVINCIAL SELECTION.

PITCHING RULES:

•FIRST TWO  GAMES: EACH PITCHER WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED TO THROW A MAXIMUM OF 60 PITCHES. YOU WILL BE ALLOWED TO FINISH THE HITTER YOU’RE ON.

•AFTER THE FIRST TWO GAMES PITCHERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO THROW A MAXIMUM OF 5 FRAMES OR 100 PITCHES. THIS APPLIES TO SINGLE AND DOUBLE HEADER GAMES. IF A PITCHER THROWS  MORE THAN 80 PITCHES IN A GAME, HE CANNOT THEN TAKE THE FIELD IN ANOTHER POSITION, HE MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE GAME.

•PITCHER MAY NOT PITCH AND CATCH IN THE SAME DAY.

•PITCHER MAY ONLY THROW IN ONE GAME A DAY.

•NO SPEED UP RULE.

•ONLY WOOD BATS WILL BE ALLOWED IN BOTH LEAGUES

•NO DRUGS, DRINKING OR SMOKING WILL BE ALLOWED DURING A GAME.

•BYE TEAMS TO SUPPLY BASE UMPIRES.

UMPIRE CARDS

•A YELLOW CARD WILL BE ISSUED TO ANY PLAYER THAT SHOWS DESCENT OR IMPROPER BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS ANY OFFICIAL, PLAYER AND SUPPORTER.

•A YELLOW CARD WILL BE ISSUED TO ANY PLAYER OR COACH THAT ARGUES JUDGEMENT CALLS.

•IF A PLAYER RECIEVES TWO YELLOW CARDS IN THE SAME GAME, HE WILL BE REMOVED FROM THAT GAME IMMEDIATLEY AND WILL MISS HIS TEAMS NEXT GAME AUTOMATICALLY.

•IF ANY TEAM RECEIVES MORE THAN 4 YELLOW CARDS FOR THE DURATION OF THE DRAFT LEAGUE THAT TEAM WILL BE FINED R500,00 AND ALL GUILTY PARTIES WILL BE REQUIRED TO PERFORM UMPIRE DUTIES FOR 2 GAMES EACH.

•IF A PLAYER, COACH OR MANAGER RECEIVES A RED CARD AND / OR IS EJECTED FROM THE GAME THAT PERSON WILL FACE THE DISCIPLINARY CODE AS SET OUT IN THE GPBC CODE OF CONDUCT. THAT PERSON WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY OR PARTICIPATE UNTIL HE HAS ATTENDED THE DISCIPLINARY HEARING.THIS PERSON CANNOT COACH, THEY WILL BE REQUIRED TO UMPIRE.

THE SCORING SYSTEM

Rotisserie Scoring System:
In a 6-team Rotisserie league, your team is awarded points according to its order of finish in each statistical category. Your team’s point totals for each category are then added together for your team’s overall score, and standings are based on these overall scores. The first-place team in a statistical category (e.g. Home Runs) gets 6 points, second-place 5 points and so on, with the last-placed team in the category getting 1 point. If two teams are tied within a category, each team receives an average of the total points available; so if two teams tie for first place in a category, each team gets .5 points rather than 5 to the first-placed team and 4 to the second-placed team. The tables below list the specific statistical categories for each of the Rotisserie scoring systems available.
